Lauren Topchik scored a power-play goal off an assist from Lucy Bogdanovich 9:42 into the third period to lift Scarborough to a 2-1 girls’ hockey victory over Cheverus/Kennebunk/Old Orchard Wednesday night at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.

The Red Storm (11-0-1) took the lead 9:25 into the game when Madison O’Reilly scored off assists from Bogdanovich and Sami Shoebottom.

Jill Hannigan scored the equalizer for the Stags (9-4) 1:40 into the second period off assists from Victoria Lemieux and Sophia Giancotti.

Taylor Courtois made 38 saves for the Stags and McKenzie Cormier stopped nine shots for Scarborough.

FALMOUTH 4, BIDDEFORD 0: Camden Carrier had a pair of goals as the Yachtsmen (8-1-2) beat the Tigers (3-8) at the Biddeford Ice Arena.

Devon Sarazin had a goal and an assist for Falmouth, and Evelyn Clement added a goal.

Marcy Kittredge had two assists for the Yachtsmen.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

VALLEY 69, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 35: Cody Laweryson used his size and strength to put in 25 points, including three 3-pointers, as the visiting Cavaliers (9-0) handled the Lions (4-6).

Austin Cates had 11 points for Valley, and Dillon Beane and Luke Malloy each added eight points.

David Davol led Greater Portland with 17 points, Jeremiah Hammond had eight.

VALLEY 44, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 29: Kendra Sweet scored 10 points and Haven Mayhew added nine to lead the Cavaliers (5-5) to the victory.

Clarissa Jones scored 15 points to lead Greater Portland Christian (5-4).

BOYS’ HOCKEY

KENNEBUNK 7, LEAVITT 1: Donovan Connor had three goals and an assist as the Rams (4-5-1) got past the Hornets (2-6) at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.

James Ross had a goal and dished a pair of assists for Kennebunk as it scored three unanswered goals in the third period,

Patrick Gassman, Nate Jewett and William O’Neill also scored for the Rams.

Connor Cyr had a second-period goal for Leavitt.

Spencer Desrochers for Kennebunk and Dakota Soucy for the Hornets each recorded 16 saves.

BRUNSWICK 4, MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 2: The Dragons (5-3-1) built a 3-0 lead through two periods and held off Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse at the Watson Arena in Brunswick.

Jacob Doring had a first-period goal for Brunswick and Nate Granholm added a pair of goals before Tyler Halls and Bradley Boulet scored for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse in the third period to cut the deficit to one.

Michael Deveaux put in an insurance goal with assists from Granholm and Jacob Towle later in the third period.
