The front-page, bold-face headline of Jan. 6 reads: “911 calls reveal night of horror as four killed” (in reference to a Nov. 4 murder-suicide in Oakland).

Included on the front page is a profile photo of the young child involved in this event as she was being carried away from the scene two months ago. So why is this being revisited in such a craven, sensationalized manner now?

To be a well-informed citizen, I don’t need to be presented with the intimate, last-moment details of the experiences of the victims – much less the face of a helpless child.
