NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Trevor Fleurent’s goal with 44 seconds remaining in overtime gave the University of New England a 4-3 win over Norwich in a New England Hockey Conference game Friday.

It was the fifth straight win for UNE (9-4-1, 5-4-1 NEHC), which had never beaten Norwich (11-6, 6-4) in 13 previous meetings. The Nor’easters are 8-0-1 in their last nine games.

Norwich was ranked 10th and 12th in two NCAA Division III polls.

Fleurent assisted on second-period goals by Dylan Bengston and his younger brother, Brady, as UNE erased a 3-1 deficit.

Ben Pearl scored a short-handed goal in the first period after Norwich opened a 2-0 lead.

UNE goalie Mason Riley made 29 saves.

BOWDOIN 3, WESLEYAN 3: The Cardinals (0-7-6, 0-2-5 NESCAC) scored a pair of goals in the third period to salvage a tie against the Polar Bears (4-6-3, 2-4-3) at Middletown, Connecticut.

Bradley Potter, Chris Wallace and Cody Todesco notched a goal apiece for Bowdoin, and Peter Cronin made 35 saves.

ST. MICHAEL’S 6, SOUTHERN MAINE 1: Todd Bannerman scored the only goal for USM (5-10-1, 2-8 NEHC) in a loss to the Purple Knights (4-11, 2-8) at South Burlington, Vermont.

TRINITY 4, COLBY 3: Geoff Sullivan, Colin Reilly and Nick O’Connor scored in the last 10 minutes, but the Mules (5-6-3, 3-5-1 NESCAC) couldn’t complete the comeback from a four-goal deficit against the Bantams (9-3-1, 5-2) in Hartford, Connecticut.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 3, AMHERST 2: Ariana Bourque scored with seven seconds left to lift the Polar Bears (6-5, 3-2 NESCAC) over the Lord Jeffs (8-1-3, 4-1-2) at Brunswick.

Bowdoin also got power-play goals from Maureen Greason and Maryanne Iodice to take a 2-1 lead in the second period.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 2, SALVE REGINA 0: Abby Kinens broke a scoreless deadlock late in the second period and Sydney Helmbrecht made 27 saves as the Nor’easters (7-5-2, 2-4-1 NEHC) shut out the Seahawks (5-7-2, 3-3-1) in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Kimberly Gosselin added an empty-net goal in the final minute.

MANHATTANVILLE 3, SOUTHERN MAINE 2: Kristi Peters scored the tiebreaking goal with 8:15 left as the Valiants (5-7, 4-4 NEHC) beat the Huskies (2-11-1, 1-5-1) at Rye, New York.

Lynn Kozlowski and Chelsea Boucher scored for USM.

COLBY 3, WILLIAMS 1: Katie McLaughin scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period and Colby (5-6-3, 3-3-1 NESCAC) added an empty netter against the Ephs (7-5, 4-3) in Waterville.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

BATES 67, HAMILTON 62: Josh Britten gave the Bobcats (9-6, 2-1 NESCAC) the lead for good with a 3-pointer with 5:44 left in a win over the Continentals (7-7, 0-3) at Clinton, New York.

Bates led 35-34 at halftime. The second half featured three lead changes and a pair of ties.

Malcolm Delpeche had 12 points and seven rebounds for Bates. Mike Boornazian also scored 12 points, and Marcus Delpeche had 10 points and seven rebounds.

WILLIAMS 75, COLBY 66: The Ephs (10-5, 1-2 NESCAC) used a late 8-0 run to pull away from the Mules (10-4, 0-3) at Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Colby erased a 17-point deficit in the second half, tying the game on a Sam Willson 3-pointer with 5:43 left. Wilson finished with 20 points, including 6 3-pointers. Ryan Jann scored 19 points and Luke Westerman added 16.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

BATES 52, HAMILTON 41: The Bobcats (5-9, 1-2 NESCAC) built a 32-12 halftime lead and held on to defeat the Continentals (5-9, 1-2) at Clinton, New York.

Nina Davenport scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and Allie Coppola added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

COLBY 69, WILLIAMS 63: Carylanne Wolfington made 6 of 8 3-pointers and scored 20 points as the Mules (9-5, 2-1 NESCAC) knocked off the Ephs (11-3, 1-2) in Waterville.

Williams, which trailed by 11 points early in the fourth quarter, pulled within 62-60 on a Devon Caveny 3-pointer with 1:56 remaining, but Colby knocked down four free throws to regain control.

Haley Driscoll finished with 15 points and nine rebounds for the Mules.
