SACO — Lucienne Bergeron, 90, passed away to be with God at her home on Jan. 13, 2016.

She was born on March 26, 1925, in Biddeford to Esdras and Clementine (Petrin) Brochu. She married her favorite banjo player, Roland, on Sept. 1, 1956, and they remained married for 59 years. She was the administrative assistant for the honorable Judge Arthur J. LeSieur before her retirement in 1958.

Lou enjoyed many things, including attending church, cooking, making pastries, gardening, canning, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member and president of the Freemont Club Auxiliary and the Notre Dame de Lourdes Dames of Saint Anne.

She is survived by: her husband, Roland J. Bergeron of Saco; a son, Raymond J. Bergeron and his life partner Jennifer Morrill of Kennebunk; and a daughter, Rachel M. Owens.

She is also survived by: three grandchildren, Wayne Owens, Sean Bergeron, and Brian Bergeron; two greatgrandchildren, Evan and Sophie Owens; her younger brother, Joseph Brochu and his wife Therese; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

She was preceded in death by: her sister, Yvonne Drouin, and her brother, Robert.

Lucienne especially wanted to thank her nieces, Claire Dube, Denise Rogers and Joanne Johnston; her neighbors, Lucille and Patrick Fennel and Marilou Lachance; and the hospice services of southern Maine for their wonderful assistance and comfort during her final days.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
