KENNEBUNK — Steven T. Patterson, 47, of Kennebunk, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with his wife and family by his side.

He was born May 15, 1968, in Woburn, Massachusetts, the son of Thomas S. and Carole A. (McDonough) Patterson. Moving to Saco at age 11, he attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in the Class of 1987.

Steven started his career in the restaurant business. With his brother David, he owned and operated Seacoast Seafood in Old Orchard Beach.

He later became a general contractor and real estate developer. Over the past 20 years, he built more than 200 projects and developed two locations on the map, Patterson Drive and Mabry Lane, both in Kennebunk.

On Oct. 22, 1994, he married his love, Kristina Royer, in Lewiston. Together, they shared a marriage full of love, joy, family and travel. His greatest joy in life came from being a father to his son, Jack.

An avid fisherman and an excellent hunter, Steven also enjoyed golfing and playing softball.

He is survived by: his wife of 21 years, Kristina Royer Patterson, of Kennebunk; their son, Jack, of Kennebunk; his parents, of Kennebunk; three brothers, Marc Patterson of Limington, David Patterson and his girlfriend Joyce Ann Alvarado of Kennebunkport, and Thomas Patterson Jr. and his girlfriend Shana Dimatteo of Casco; a sister, Samantha Patterson and her boyfriend Kevin Pelletier of Kennebunk; his brotherin law, Roger and Therese Royer of Harpswell; three sisters-in-law, Roxanne Doyer and her husband Douglas of Mechanic Falls, Chantal Royer-Haig and her husband Darin of Millbury, Massachusetts, and Michelle Arthur and her husband Jeff of Auburn; and dear friends Dana Howland, Chris Howland, Taylor Duffy and Maurice Schmir.

Steven was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews; he took great joy in being an uncle.

He was loved by all who knew him. Steven will live in our hearts forever.

Visiting hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A service in his honor will follow at 2 p.m. in Hope Chapel. To share condolences online, please visit www.HopeMemorial.com.
