BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School girls jayvee Orange basketball team, returning home after playing four consecutive games on the road, outscored Cony 37-8 in the second half to defeat the Rams, 59-23, on Tuesday.
MacKenzie Burrows and Rosalie White combined for 19 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Dragons (14-1). Burrows finished with a teamhigh 11 points. Johnnie Folsom added eight points and Margaret Dickinson continued her fine play in the post, scoring seven points while collecting four steals.
Brunswick gained an 11-5 lead in the first quarter. Cony battled the Dragons in the second quarter as the Dragons held a 22-15 halftime lead.
Folsom and Dickinson combined for 11 points in the third quarter as the Dragons pulled away.
Sydney Avery scored 11 points for Cony.
