Forrest Boucher scored 29 points as seventh-seeded Islesboro upset No. 2 Pine Tree Academy 66-50 in a Class D South boys’ basketball quarterfinal Monday morning in Augusta.

Islesboro (12-7), which broke the game open with a 12-0 run early in the fourth quarter, advances to a semifinal Wednesday morning against No. 3 Seacoast Christian (13-6),

Jalen Tamalea led Pine Tree Academy (12-7) with 18 points. Ales Milano added 12.

DIRIGO 82, RICHMOND 36: Riley Robinson scored 30 points as the top-seeded Cougars (18-1) cruised past the No. 8 Bobcats (12-7) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Augusta.

Robinson had 19 points in the first half to help Dirigo build a 39-22 lead. The Cougars turn the game into a rout with an 18-0 run in the third quarter.

Cooper Chiasson added 15 points and Clayton Swett had 12 for Dirigo.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

VINALHAVEN 39, PINE TREE ACADEMY 24: Gilleyanne Davis-Oakes scored 21 points as the Vikings defeated Pine Tree Academy in a Class D South quarterfinal in Augusta.

Third-seeded Vinalhaven (15-4) advances to a semifinal matchup against No. 7 Valley (9-10) on Thursday.

Alex Goodman led No. 6 Pine Tree Academy (10-9) with 18 points.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 51, ST. DOMINIC ACADEMY 39: Hannah Anderson scored 26 points and helped fuel an 11-2 surge in the third quarter as the third-seeded Mustangs (18-2) beat the 11th-seeded Saints (10-10) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Augusta.

Anderson scored 11 of Monmouth’s 13 points in the opening quarter, but St. Dom’s stayed close until the third quarter, when three-point plays by Anderson and Tia Day helped the Mustangs break the game open.

Caroline Castonguay paced St. Dom’s with 13 points.

The Maine Principals’ Association juggled the schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Augusta Civic Center, postponing the Tuesday morning session in anticipation of a storm.

The two Class D South girls’ quarterfinals scheduled for Tuesday morning – Temple Academy vs. Highview Christian at 8:30 a.m. and Rangeley vs. Greater Portland Christian at 10 a.m. – will now be played Wednesday morning.

Game times for the Class C South girls’ quarterfinals on Tuesday were also pushed back. Madison and Traip Academy will open Tuesday’s session at 1 p.m., followed by Richmond vs. Searsport at 2:30 p.m.

Game times were not changed for the Class AA North semifinals, which start with a girls’ contest between Edward Little and Lewiston at 4 p.m.

To accommodate the Class D South girls on Wednesday, the Class D South boys’ semifinals and Class A girls’ and boys’ semifinals were pushed back to later starting times.
