ELLSWORTH – Maine conservation officials will meet with residents around the state about how to identify and report invasive forest pests that threaten the state’s woodlands.

The Maine Association of Conservation Districts is offering the workshops in 12 counties around the state in the spring and summer. The association says the meetings will help residents understand the threats posed by invasive species and learn how to report sightings and damage to trees.

The workshops will be targeted at landowners and landscape and forest professionals, but anyone from the public is welcome. The first is scheduled for March 4 in Ellsworth.
