The 19-year-old woman who police say crashed a stolen beverage delivery truck into the side of barn in Limerick in December is back in jail, this time for allegedly stealing a man’s car while he was picking up takeout food in Sanford on Sunday night.

Nicole Dyment of Canton faces three new charges, including theft by unauthorized taking, stemming from the incident. She is being held at the York County Jail without bail and is expected to appear in court Wednesday morning.

Sanford police responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft at 6:43 p.m. Sunday at the Green Tea Restaurant. A customer left his vehicle idling while picking up a takeout order, and the car was gone when he returned.

The investigating officer, Andrew Simmons, recognized the woman in the surveillance video as the same person he had given a ride to a few hours earlier to help her get warm.

On Monday, police located the stolen vehicle at an apartment complex in Lewiston. Police found Dyment in the apartment building and arrested her. In addition to the theft charge, she faces charges of failing to give her correct name and address and violation of her conditional release.

In December, police accused Dyment of stealing a beverage delivery truck from Portland and crashing it into a barn after a high-speed police chase in York County. The truck was stolen from in front of a 7-Eleven on Congress Street in Portland.

In the December incident, deputies charged Dyment with drunken driving, driving to endanger, failure to stop for a police officer and driving without a license.
