A 36-year-old Raymond woman was charged with operating under the influence after she apparently lost control of her vehicle on snow-covered roads and crashed into a telephone pole on Route 121 in Raymond early Saturday morning.

Amanda Thomes was traveling north on Meadow Road, also known as Route 121, when her green 2016 Toyota Highlander went off the road about 12:20 a.m., shearing the pole in half and leaving it suspended across the roadway.

Thomes and her adult male passenger were uninjured. After her arrest, Thomes was released on her own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgton District Court April 19.

A second vehicle traveling in the same direction then struck the pole, causing damage to the second vehicle’s windshield.

No one in the second car, a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, was injured.
