OCALA, Fla. — Vicki L. Maxfield, 58, died March 6, after a brief illness.

She was born in Newport, Rhode Island, on Sept. 8, 1957, to James B. and Edith W. Maxfield. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Portland High School in 1975. Maxfield graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1979 from the University of Southern Maine.

She worked as a bank teller and then for the town of Lyman as the town clerk.

Maxfield had a big heart and was a caring soul who loved her family very much. She put 100 percent into everything she did and was always willing to listen and help those in need. She was an avid fan of football, baseball and Nascar.

Maxfield is survived by her daughter, Alyssa Swenson; her stepmother, Gloria Maxfield; two sisters, Kimmerly Maxfield-Fearon and Holly Brown; two stepsisters, Donna Haslop and Kellie Senghas; a stepbrother, Robert Thibodeau; and several nieces and nephews.
