A homeless man who allegedly set a fire in a barn in Richmond on Sunday evening has been charged with arson.

Gary Martin, 58, faces charges of arson, burglary, criminal trespassing and violating his bail conditions, state police said Monday.

Richmond police found Martin in the barn at 1 Furlong Road, where had been staying in recent days. Police found him with a fire going in a grill, and evidence of previous fires in the building, likely set by Martin to keep warm. None of the fires had spread and there was little damage to the barn.
