The 39-year-old woman who died in the Subway restaurant parking lot on Brighton Avenue on Monday had a history of medical problems and a history of early deaths in her family, police said.
Assistant Chief Vern Malloch said Rebecca Sargent of Bridgton was traveling on Brighton Avenue when she pulled over because she felt unwell. A friend who was with Sargent went into the restaurant to ask someone to call for an ambulance.
By the time the friend returned to the car, Sargent had stopped breathing. She died shortly afterward, Malloch said.
Police were called about 3:20 p.m. and detectives investigated the death, but determined that Sargent died of natural causes.
