Regarding Cynthia Dill‘s spew in the April 3 Maine Sunday Telegram re: angry white guys having to suck it up in relation to the unfairness of women’s pay scales over time for comparable wages paid to men, I had to take a breath and step back to formulate my thoughts.

In a nutshell, I do not think Ms. Dill gets it.

The very same corporate America that shipped all the angry white guys’ jobs overseas in order to further the bottom line of their stockholders is the very same corporate America that historically has dug in its heels and refused to pay women properly for equal work done by men. The angry white guys and women unfairly paid are comrades-in-arms, it seems to me.

With all due respect to Ms. Dill, I am pleased that she is a former Maine state senator. I cannot imagine a person with her vitriol and lack of insight doing justice to representing the rainbow of needs of her area’s Maine constituents.

Perhaps Gov. LePage would be interested in opening a sort of yin-yang consulting firm with Ms. Dill when his term expires. From what I can see, they are opposite sides of the same coin in outlook toward people they may unreasonably hold a dim view of.
