The Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth has a new general manager. Michael Briggs is an industry veteran with extensive resort management experience and will be responsible for the inn’s overall operations, which includes 61 guest rooms and suites, an oceanview restaurant and full service spa.
In addition, he will also oversee the construction of 12, two-bedroom, cottage style suites, which are scheduled to open in June 2017. Briggs has a background in resort and hotel management, along with a well-established commitment to service and guest satisfaction.
Most recently he was resort manager for the luxury Chatham Bars Inn Resort and Spa on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. He’s also worked at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston and the Charles Hotel in Cambridge.
“I am delighted to be joining Inn by the Sea and look forward to being part of the inn’s continued success,” Briggs said. “Building on a culture of thoughtful, personalized service I hope to focus on all that makes Maine and this coastal location so special.”
