Robert Neault Memorial Bridge
The biggest news of late has to be the renaming of the Causeway Bridge to honor the memory of Robert Neault. Bob was known for his community service, stewardship and the many hours he gave to projects for the betterment of Naples.

The official renaming to the Robert Neault Memorial Bridge will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

Neault, who passed away in November at age 56, was a longtime Naples attorney with deep ties to the community. He served on the Naples Planning Board and the Causeway Revitalization Committee and helped found the Naples/Casco Before and After Care Program. Neault’s work also helped establish the Singer Community Center, which will host a reception following the renaming ceremony. The reception will be catered by Crosswalk Community Outreach, where Neault served as vice president.

Thanking veterans with a cruise
The Naples Lion’s Club is doing something that to me, is just amazing and thoughtful. They are inviting all military, active and retired, along with immediate family members, on a free Memorial Day Cruise on Long Lake aboard the Songo River Queen II, from 3-4:30 p.m., rain or shine. The Lions ask that you inquire in advance if additional guests are desired and that you bring an ID or documentation to show active or prior military involvement. Boarding begins one half-hour before departure. Complimentary appetizers and desserts will be provided, and a snack bar and cash cocktail bar are available onboard.

For reservations, contact Arlene Stetson, 693-6365 or at augbovehouse@roadrunner.com; Mike Papastavrou, 693-6690 or romahmotorinn@gmail.com; event coordinator Dave Gerrish at atozdave@yahoo.com.

You can also reserve in person at the Naples Public Library or online at the Naples Lions Club website, e-clubhouse.org/sites/naplesme. The  Songo River Queen dock is at 841 Roosevelt Trail.
