BIDDEFORD — Albert H. Demers, 48, of Biddeford died Monday, June 20, 2016 at Bringham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a brief illness from pulmonary fibrosis as a result of contracting Lyme disease.

He was born in Los Angeles, on July 4, 1967, the son of Albert H. and Ruby Fay Kelleher Demers Sr. He was educated in Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy with the Class of 1985.

On Sept. 17, 2005, he married Roxanne E. Mills in Saco.

Mr. Demers worked for 30 years with Saco Defense, Colt Mfg. Co. and General Dynamics in Saco until his passing. Albert was a member of Deep Brook Golf Course in Saco. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, bowling and darts. He loved cooking.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Beaulieu in 1988.

Surviving are, his wife of 10 years of Biddeford; one son, Jacob Worden of Biddeford; one stepdaughter, Nicole Worden of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Rachel Brouillette and husband Herve of Mystic, Connecticut, Doris McAuliffe and husband, John, of Biddeford, Diane Valliere and husband, Raymond, of Lyman, Claire McKinnon and husband, Richard, of Tennessee, Lucille Bunnel and husband, Tom, of Sanford, and Patricia Boudreau Murphy and husband, Roger, of Twenty-nine Palms, California; and several nieces and nephew.

A celebration of the life of Albert H. Demers, Jr. will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Memorial donations in Albert’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
