LYMAN — Susan F. Sutton, 67, of Goodwins Mills, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a short illness with cancer.

She was born in Biddeford on Feb. 24, 1949, the daughter of Raymond R. and Charlotte E. Grenier Boucher. She was educated in Biddeford schools, and graduated from the former St. Joseph High School with the Class of 1967. She received a registered nurse degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Providence, Rhode Island.

On Aug. 8, 1970, she married George P. Sutton in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

Mrs. Sutton worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She then worked at Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, where she was head of nursing for the intensive care department for eight years.

She later moved to Ashtabula, Ohio, where she worked for Home Health Services for a few years while raising her three children. She then moved back to Lyman in 1999 to care for her ailing mother. Following her mother’s passing, she last worked for 10 years for UNUM, retiring in 2015.

Susan enjoyed walking her dogs in the woods, spending time at the beach and working in her flower beds. Sue was a giving person who was always willing to share her love and medical support when family and friends were in need, and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by: Her husband of almost 46 years of Goodwins Mills; two sons, Jason P. Sutton and his wife Holly of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Matthew M. Sutton and his fiancee Ashley Kearns of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Stephanie R. Sutton of Arundel; her father, Raymond R. Boucher and his wife Doris of Biddeford; three brothers, Michael R. Boucher and his wife Catherine, Tobie D. Boucher and his partner Clare Fecteau, and Jeffrey T. Boucher and his wife Doris, all of Biddeford; three sisters, Dianne J. Boucher and her husband Roland Miller of Bowdoin, Lucie C. Boucher and her husband Bernie Huebner of Waterville, and Lise M. Roseberry and her husband Greg of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
