The Falmouth police are investigating two incidents of a man who allegedly exposed himself along trails at the Blackstrap Hill Preserve.
Police notified the public of the incidents in a Facebook post Wednesday.
The man allegedly exposed himself and masturbated near female hikers he encountered on the trails.
The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs roughly 180 pounds with a medium build.
Falmouth Police Lt. John Kilbride said the offenses occurred Sept. 15 and Oct. 11, and that in both cases, the alleged crimes occurred in the same area and in the same manner.
Kilbride said that in both cases, the man stood in the shadows and waited to expose himself as female hikers approached. Although police have a description of the suspect’s vehicle, investigators are not releasing that information yet.
Kilbride urged anyone making use of the town’s trails to tell others where they are going and when they are expected to return, to have a plan of escape, and to carry a cell phone to communicate quickly in the event of any incidents.
Anyone who witnesses suspicious behavior is urged to call police at 781-2300, or by dialing 911.
