Windham residents have a chance to learn about the town’s comprehensive plan draft and provide feedback at a public meeting, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m., at the Windham High School library and cafeteria.

The meeting will be hosted by the town and the Comprehensive Plan Review Team. Members of the review team will discuss the goals of the comprehensive plan, which include initiatives to concentrate growth in three downtown centers, preserve the character of rural Windham and invest in town facilities.

The purpose of the meeting, said Planning Director Ben Smith, “is really a chance to present a more polished draft of the comprehensive plan to the community. It’s still a draft, but it’s really starting to take shape.”

A graphic created by the Comprehensive Plan Review Team and Planning Department shows the town’s four major objectives for Windham’s future, and, in circles, implementation strategies for achieving these goals.
