The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that it has identified suspects in the theft last month of a corrections officer’s vehicle, uniform and badge from his home in Casco.

“Those involved in the burglaries and thefts are known and formal charges are coming,” Capt. Don Goulet said in a press release.

Goulet said someone stole the officer’s 2004 Ford F-150 truck from his driveway during the early morning of Oct. 5. The truck was unlocked and the keys were inside. Also stolen was a Cumberland County Jail uniform and corrections officer badge, which had been left in the truck.

Falmouth police found the stolen truck in their town on Oct. 13, and on Nov. 2 the sheriff’s office recovered the uniform and badge.

Several Casco residents reported motor vehicle break-ins on Oct. 5. In one, a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun was stolen. It has yet to be recovered, Goulet said.
