FALMOUTH — A tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 295 Sunday resulted in minor injuries to the 52-year-old driver and closed one southbound lane for five hours.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 4 a.m. on Nov. 27 at Mile 12.5. According to a release from the Maine State Police, the truck was in the left lane, and attempted to move to the right lane. The trailer then started to fishtail, forcing the truck off the road, through the guardrail and over an embankment.
The roadway was wet, but was not believed to be a factor in the crash. According to police, drugs, alcohol and speed were also ruled out as causes of the crash.
