Your front page article on the Route 302 sign brought back so many memories.

The trip from Manhattan to our summer haven in Bridgton in the ’60s and ’70s was seven hours, with three children, cat and dog packed in. “Are we there yet” started all too soon.

When we reached the TV Man swinging his toolbox everyone chanted “There’s the TV Man,” and we knew we had only one hour to go. So pleased that this icon is eligible for national status.
