FALMOUTH — Nina Howe sank the tying basket with seven seconds left in regulation, then scored all six of her team’s points in overtime as York rallied for a 49-48 win over Falmouth in a Class A South girls’ basketball game Saturday.

York (2-3) erased a 42-35 deficit in the final two minutes of regulation, turning three steals into six points before Howe’s tying basket.

Howe put the Wildcats ahead early in overtime, and York led the rest of the way.

Howe, a freshman, paced York with 15 points. Adelaide Cooke had 20 points and 13 rebounds for Falmouth (4-2).

LEWISTON 52, WINDHAM 41: Victoria Harris scored 10 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils (4-2) over the Eagles (2-4) in Windham.

Hannah Chaput made nine free throws and finished with 16 points for Lewiston. Morgan Eliasen added 13 points.

Hannah Talon led Windham with 13 points.

MT. ABRAM 55, DIRIGO 33: Summer Ross scored 19 points to lead the Roadrunners (4-2) to a win over the Cougars (1-6) in Dixfield.

Megan Sorel added 14 points and Marya Beedy scored 13, with four 3-pointers.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

FALMOUTH 65, YORK 55: Colin Coyne connected on five 3-pointers and scored 28 points as the Yachtsmen (6-1) defeated the Wildcats (4-2) in York.

Coyne was 8 for 8 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Sean Walsh added 15 points for Falmouth.

Trevor LaBonte led York with 20 points, hitting three 3-pointers. Reid Hogan scored 10 points.

INDOOR TRACK

USM RELAYS: The USM Relays, originally scheduled for Dec. 30, has been moved to Monday at the University of Southern Maine’s Costello Sports Complex. More than 20 high schools are expected to participate, starting with the pentathlon at 9 a.m. Other events begin at noon.

FRIDAY’S BOYS’ BASKETBALL

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 59, WELLS 51: Noah Preble paced a balanced attack with 14 points as the Phoenix (6-0) beat the Warriors (4-1) in Jay.

Austin Darling and Brett Frey each added 12 points and Caulin Parker scored 11 for Spruce Mountain.

Wells was led by Keegan Reidy with 16 points.

LEAVITT 44, MORSE 41: Jack Sylvester sank a tiebreaking free throw with 14 seconds left in overtime, then converted an offensive rebound after missing the second free throw as the Hornets (1-6) edged the Shipbuilders (1-6) in Bath.

Sylvester paced Leavitt with 12 points. Tom Warren scored 18 points for Morse.

FRIDAY’S GIRLS’ HOCKEY

GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 3, YORK/TRAIP 2: Celia Begonia completed a hat trick and broke a 2-2 tie with 3:09 remaining, lifting the Rams (3-5) over the Wildcats (5-4) in Durham, New Hampshire.

Begonia got her first two goals in the second period, erasing a 1-0 deficit.

Emma Ford gave York a 1-0 lead in the first period, and Katherine Bertolini scored the tying goal for the Wildcats early in the third.
