M.D. Harmon’s behavior does not somehow become sanitized simply because he is dead. He made it his business, as a columnist, to spew ignorance and monger fear. The Portland Press Herald allowed it believing he sold copy.
It is fitting that as a rabid National Rifle Association cheerleader, he died by his own handgun.
