Katy Nickerson, 26, was issued a summons to appear in court on charges of trafficking in heroin, class B, and possession of heroin, class C, according to Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster.

There were also two children under the age of 10 in the home when police arrived and executed a drug search warrant just before 8 a.m., Lancaster said.

Police seized 20 bags of heroin, several used bags of heroin, about $4,700 in alleged drug proceeds, digital scales, drug-related documentation, marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia, according to Lancaster.

Lancaster said the bust was part of a continuing drug investigation in Somerset County.

The search warrant was carried out by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office’s Detective Unit, led by Lt. Carl Gottardi, which was assisted by uniformed deputies, the sheriff’s office agent assigned to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and a state police trooper.
