The ballots have been counted and the “yes” vote wins. School Administrative District 75 gets its new $60.7 million high school, which will be funded primarily by the state.
By a tally of 1,773-392 the school project was approved at a special referendum Tuesday held in the four towns of SAD 75. A synthtic turf field, which appeared on the ballot as Question 2, was approved 1,246-914.
Of votes cast on Question 1, the basic school construction project, 82-percent were in favor. It was by a much slimmer margin a synthetic turf competition field was approved. Question 2 drew only 57 percent of affirmative votes at the polls.
The following are the unofficial results, which will be certified Thursday.
