GRAY — Josiah Rottari scored on a sixth-inning single by Jake Winchester to lift Gray-New Gloucester to a 2-1 victory against Wells in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Tuesday.

The Patriots (2-2) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by William Shufelt. Matt Tufts scored on a wild pitch in the fifth to tie it.

Zachary Mann picked up the win, allowing one run on five hits and striking out three. Ryan Sousa of Wells (1-1) allowed two runs on nine hits, striking out one.

ST. DOMINIC 8, WAYNFLETE 2: Mackenzie Pelletier pitched a complete game and the Saints (1-0) scored five runs in the first inning to beat the Flyers (0-2) at Portland.

Ben Gosselin had three hits and Pelletier added two for St. Dom’s. Max Winson had two hits for the Flyers.

WESTBROOK 8, MARSHWOOD 2: Justin Copetta had two hits, including an RBI single during a three-run sixth inning as the Blue Blazes won an opener at South Berwick.

Westbrook led 6-2 going into the seventh, then tacked on two more. Dylan Francoeur had an RBI single for the Blue Blazes. Maxwell Horton and Aidan Place each had two hits for Marshwood.

OCEANSIDE 10, BELFAST 7: Hunter Davis laid down a bunt to score the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning and the Mariners (3-0) held off the Lions (2-1) at Belfast.

Tim Mazzeo followed with a two-run single to give Oceanside a 10-7 lead.

Oceanside led 7-2 going into the bottom of the fifth but Belfast scored five runs and tied it on an RBI single by Derrick Tyler, who finished with three hits.

SOFTBALL

OCEANSIDE 13, BELFAST 0: Morgan Heal drove in four runs and Casey Pine had three hits as the Mariners (2-1) downed the Lions (1-2) in five innings at Belfast.

Chloe Jones threw a one-hitter, striking out seven for Oceanside. Abby Veilleux and Hannah Moholland each added two hits and an RBI.

MT. ARARAT 12, CONY 7: The Eagles (3-0) scored six runs in the sixth inning for a come-from-behind victory at Topsham.

Kayleigh Temple homered for Mt. Ararat.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

YARMOUTH 15, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 6: Anders Corey scored four goals to lead the Clippers (1-0) over the visiting Panthers (1-1) at Yarmouth.

MASSABESIC 20, NOBLE 3: Ethan Ouellette had seven goals to lead the Mustangs (2-0) over the Knights (0-3) at Waterboro.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

MARSHWOOD 17, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 4: Hannah Costin had seven goals and six assists as the Hawks won an opener at Portland.

BIDDEFORD 20, PORTLAND 2: Paige Laverriere scored five goals, and Peyton McKeown had four as the Tigers won an opener at Biddeford.

MORSE 16, BOOTHBAY REGION 7: Noa Sreden scored five goals and the Shipbuilders outscored the Seahawks 8-4 in the second half to win an opener at Bath.
