SCARBOROUGH — Chloe Griffin struck out nine over five innings and Scarborough remained undefeated with a 9-0 victory against Portland in an SMAA softball game Wednesday.

Griffin allowed three hits, and Lilly Volk pitched the final two innings for the Red Storm (5-0).

Scarborough broke a scoreless tie in the fourth against the Bulldogs (5-1) when Abbie Murrell singled home Laura Powell and Volk.

The Red Storm then pulled away with three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth.

MASSABESIC 13, CHEVERUS/NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Kyra-Mei Cartwright went 3 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs as the Mustangs (5-1) rolled past the Stags (0-5) in five innings at Portland.

Grace Tutt had a triple and double, while Julia Gregoire added two hits and an RBI for Massabesic.

Gregoire held Cheverus to one earned run on three hits, striking out eight.

Allison Tillotson had an RBI single for the Stags.

GORHAM 10, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY/FALMOUTH 9: Shayla Harris went 3 for 4 with four RBI for the Rams (4-1), who built a 10-3 lead and held off the Lions (2-2) at Gorham.

Maine Girls’ Academy scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning and four in the seventh, including a two-run single by Holly Akey, but left the tying run stranded on second base.

Grace McGouldrick had a triple and a single for Gorham. Kiana Tracey added a double and a single.

Megan Faucher led the Lions with three doubles.

KENNEBUNK 6, POLAND 2: The Rams (3-4) went up 4-0 in the third inning and defeated the Knights (4-3) at Kennebunk.

Christine Jarowicz led Kennebunk with three hits, including a triple. Lindsey Gregoire added a solo home run in the second. Sydney Waitt earned the win, allowing one hit and three walks in four innings. Kylie DeFeo got the save with three innings of relief.

Morgan Brousseau had a double for Poland.

OCEANSIDE 8, LEAVITT 1: Kalli Grover had a two-run single to give the Mariners (4-1) the lead for good against the Hornets (1-2) at Turner.

Grover finished 2 for 4. Lauren Hatch and Chloe Jones each had a double and a single with an RBI for Oceanside.

Jones allowed one earned run on four hits for the Mariners, striking out nine and walking two.

GREELY 5, YARMOUTH 4: The Rangers (2-4) scored with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning on a dropped pop fly to defeat the Clippers (3-1) at Cumberland.

Isabella Perry had a pair of hits and an RBI for Greely. Andrea Whitlock had three hits for Yarmouth, including a double, and drove in two runs.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 18, ST. DOMINIC 0: Nicole Bennett went 4 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs as the Raiders (5-0) handled the Saints (0-2) in five innings at Auburn.

Tina Leblanc and Paige O’Connell each had three hits, and Mackenzie Buzzell and Kaylee Emery each added two for Fryeburg.

Bennett held St. Dom’s to twosingles, striking out 14 and walking one.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, LAKE REGION 1: Alexa Thayer went 3 for 4 as the Patriots (3-1) defeated the Lakers (0-5) at Gray.

Jordan Grant added a pair of singles for Gray-New Gloucester.

Alison Martell of Gray-New Gloucester allowed one unearned run on one hit, striking out six.

NOBLE 19, WESTBROOK 4: The Knights (5-1) scored 10 runs in the first inning and defeated the Blue Blazes (1-4) in five innings at North Berwick.

Mackenzie Aleva led Noble with four hits, including two doubles and a two-run homer in the third inning. Morgan Dorr hit a grand slam in the fifth.

Raegan Kelly of Noble allowed seven hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. She also hit three doubles.

Camryn LaPierre led Westbrook with three hits.

WINDHAM 17, SANFORD 5: Lauren Talbot’s two-run homer was the first of three consecutive first-inning home runs for Windham.

Olivia Mora and Danielle Tardiff followed, and Alex Morang added a two-run shot later in the inning to give the Eagles (6-0) a 13-0 lead against Sanford (0-6) in a five-inning game at Windham.

SOUTH PORTLAND 10, BONNY EAGLE 1: Stephanie Aceto pitched a one-hitter as the Red Riots (1-5) downed the Scots (0-5) at South Portland.

Aceto and Kaitlin Bouchard each had three singles, and Maeve Kelley and Cortney Luce each added a pair of hits for South Portland.

MARSHWOOD 14, DEERING 2: Lauren Leidemann-Smith allowed two hits and struck out eight to lead the Hawks (3-2) over the Rams (1-3) in five innings at South Berwick.

Mackenzie O’Donnell hit a two-run single in the first to put Deering ahead 2-0 before Marshwood responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Marshwood added 10 runs between the third and fifth innings. Leidemann-Smith had two hits to lead six Marshwood players with multiple hits.

SACOPEE VALLEY 10, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Brynee Hink struck out nine and allowed four hits to lead the Hawks (3-2) over the Rangers (1-3) at South Hiram.

Grace Sanborn led Sacopee Valley with three hits and two RBI, including a solo homer in the fifth inning.

Hink walked one and allowed one earned run. She added a double, a triple and two RBI .

Cecelia Driscoll had two hits for Traip and scored on a single by Anna Catgui in the seventh.

YARMOUTH 17, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4: Greta Elder had three goals and an assist as the visiting Clippers (4-0) handled the Panthers (1-3) at Yarmouth.

Cory Langenbach had two goals and a pair of assists for Yarmouth, Eliza Lunt added two goals and an assist, and Ella Antolini chipped in with a goal and four assists.

Kate Larson, Amber Rose, Zelda Clegg and Helen Hamblett scored for NYA.

GREELY 8, WAYNFLETE 6: Brooke Clement scored the go-ahead goal as Greely (1-3), down 3-1 at the half, blitzed the Flyers (3-2) over the opening minutes of the second half to build an 8-5 lead with 12 minutes to play at Portland.

Clement put the Rangers ahead for good, scoring off a fast break for a 5-4 lead. Clement finished with three goals for Greely and Jayme Morrison added two. Ya Stockford led the Flyers with four goals.

CHEVERUS 13, BONNY EAGLE 11: Brooke McElman scored four goals, including the go-ahead goal making the score 10-9 for Cheverus (2-2) with eight minutes to play against the Scots (2-2) at Standish.

Aisling Flaherty added three goals and three assists for the Stags. Catherine Biegel had three goals and two assists for Bonny Eagle.

YORK 7, CAPE ELIZABETH 6: Cassandra Reinertson scored five goals for the Wildcats (4-0), who held off the Capers (3-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Trailing 5-4 at halftime, York scored three consecutive goals, the final one by Reinertson with 16 minutes to play.

Susannah Graham, Madison Sarka and Karli Chapin each had two goals for Cape Elizabeth.

Juliana Kiklis made 11 saves for the Wildcats.

WINDHAM 12, SCARBOROUGH 5: The Eagles (3-0) held a 6-1 second-half scoring edge and defeated the Red Storm (0-3) at Windham.

Mya Mannette scored four goals to lead Windham. Alanna Joyce and Maddie Beem each added two. Grace Sawyer had 12 saves.

Marielle Smith had two goals for Scarborough.
