A couple in Freeport is $3.4 million richer after purchasing a winning Megabucks ticket last month.
The Maine Lottery announced Johnny and Joanne Desgrosselliers are winners of the $3.4 million Megabucks Jackpot in the April 29 Tri-State drawing. The Lucky winners matched all six numbers drawn to win the jackpot, said a press release. The ticket was purchased at the Circle K store on Route 1 in Freeport.
The winners elected to take the one time cash option of $1.8 million and received a payment of $1.28 million after state and federal withholding taxes.
April was a month for winners in the Maine State Lottery games. Winners included four friends who shared a $150,000 Powerball ticket sold by the Hannaford in Waterville, and John Gregg of Wells, who took $1 million in the Ultimate Millions game. In addition a $1 million Mega Millions winning ticket was sold at the East Newport Grocery in Newport for the April 25 drawing. The winners have not yet come forward, said the release.
