He was born in Portland on Nov. 16, 1986, a son of Mark and Karen (Peterson) Danis. Matt graduated from Biddeford High School, Class of 2005. He also received an Associates in Culinary Arts from Southern Maine Community College.
He was employed as a cook locally.
Matt had a passion for music, going to concerts and listening to Guns & Roses. He collected sneakers, followed the Boston Celtics and enjoyed his friends. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and spend time with his dog Bear. One of his favorite pastimes was going to Crab Beach.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Paulette and Roger Danis, and Pandeli Peterson.
He is survived by his grandmother Christine (Boutet) Savoy and her husband Edward; his parents, Mark and Karen (Peterson) Danis; his brother Patrick Danis and his girlfriend Heather Pelletier; his girlfriend Kara Picone and her son Joey; and his best friend Zoran Trajanoski. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matt sadly lost his battle to addiction. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
