As Phil Coupe points out (“Another View: Cheap hydropower from Canada not so cheap,” July 9), importing power from Canada will increase energy costs for Mainers.
If you want to protect good Maine jobs, keep money in the state and protect the environment for ourselves and our kids, I urge you to contact your state legislators as soon as you can and tell them to override Gov. LePage’s veto of L.D. 1504.
L.D. 1504 supports the growing solar power industry in Maine. It makes it easier for people to come together to build solar “farms” and gives a stable economic base to this homegrown source of power. Gov. LePage, supported by the investor-owned utilities and their lobbyists, vetoed the bill. We’ll need two-thirds of each house in the Maine Legislature to override the veto.
Support clean energy and a bright future for Maine – support solar power and L.D. 1504.
