BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over visiting rival Thornton Academy on Tuesday evening.

After dropping the first set 25-19, the Tigers would storm back and win the next three by scores on 25-13, 25-14, and 25-10.

Grace Martin had 10 kills for the Tigers, while teammate Grace Boisvert had seven. Brooke Reissfelder had a whopping 23 assists for Biddeford, along with five aces.

Field Hockey                          

Thornton Academy 1, Windham 0

The Trojans secured the shutout over Windham on Tuesday.

The game’s lone goal came in the first half on a corner goal from Abby Pomerleau, assisted by Taylor Ouellette.

Jenica Botting recorded 13 saves for TA in the win.

Golf                                           

Kennebunk 13, Sanford 0

The Rams picked up a big 13-0 win over Sanford on Tuesday afternoon.

Gavin Kim led the way for Kennebunk with a match-low score of 41. Alex Champagne was close behind with 43 and Chris Grady with 45.

Ethan Valley led Sanford with a 65.

Biddeford 11, Marshwood 2

The Tigers cruised to an 11-2 win over Marshwood at Dutch Elm on Tuesday.

Carter Burnell and Logan Magnant led the way for Biddeford, each shooting 39. Brice Springer would shoot a 46 as well.

Nick Richardson led Marshwood with a score of 47.

Girls Soccer                                      

Wells 4, Traip Academy 3

The Warriors won a tight 4-3 battle over Traip Academy on Tuesday.

Hannah Cottis put the Warriors ahead with two goals in the first, but the Rangers scored the next two goals to tie the score at 2-2 at halftime.

Franny Ramsdell would put Wells ahead early in the third quarter, but Traip would once again tie the score with 10 minutes remaining.

Wells would get the go-ahead goal from Cottis, who secured the hat trick and the win.

Ramsdell and Sydney Belanger had assists for Wells, while keepers Lauren Bartlett and Merideth Bogue combined for six saves.

Boys Soccer                                   

Deering 2, Kennebunk 1

Deering’s Bill Turahimbawe scored twice to lead the Rams over Kennebunk on Tuesday. Tristan Wirth scored Kennebunk’s lone goal while keeper Quinn Battagliese recorded four saves.
