WATERBORO — A Springvale woman was treated for minor injuries Tuesday morning after crashing into a utility pole on the way to work.

York County Sheriff William King said it appears Jocelyn Hall, 18, fell asleep as she was driving to work in her 2004 Chevrolet Malibu. The car veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The crash took place on West Road, near Pole Line Lane, at about 6:15 a.m.

King said Hall was treated and released from the scene by Waterboro Fire and Rescue.

Her vehicle was a total loss.

There was no loss of power from the damaged utility pole and deputies were able to keep the road open for morning commuters, King said.
