Forest Avenue in Portland, between Marginal Way and Interstate 295, will be closed to traffic next week so construction crews working on the State Street infrastructure project can install a new storm drain system connecting State Street with Back Cove.
That section of Forest Avenue will be shut down at 10 p.m. Nov. 10 and won’t reopen until 7 a.m. Nov. 13, said city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin
Grondin said Cianbro Corp. will work 24 hours a day to complete the work as soon as possible on one of the city’s most heavily traveled roads.
The project will have a significant impact on traffic because three ramps at Exit 6A of Interstate 295 will be closed.
The $7.6 million State Street project is part of the city’s effort to reduce sewer overflows into Back Cove.
