STANDISH (AP) — Police say a U-Haul driver led officers on a chase before crashing into two cars in Standish, Maine.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said 41-year-old William Wyman attempted to elude police and crashed into two cars before being apprehended.

Officials say he nearly collided head-on with a deputy during the pursuit.

Police were alerted to the U-Haul being operated erratically Tuesday evening in Gorham. The pursuit ended with the crash in Standish.

One driver was taken to the hospital. Wyman, who was not hurt, was charged with eluding officers and reckless conduct. It was unknown if he had a lawyer.
