POWNAL — The Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing Dec. 4 to discuss a proposed 180-day extension of a moratorium on retail marijuana operations.

The moratorium, which was enacted June 19, enacted a temporary ban on the location, operation, and licensing of any retail marijuana social clubs and any retail marijuana businesses, including stores and cultivation, manufacturing, and testing facilities. 

If the extension is approved, the moratorium, which now expires Dec. 15, will continue until June 13, 2018. 

Monday’s public hearing will be take place at 7 p.m. in the Dewitt Room of Mallett Hall, 429 Hallowell Road.
