Lisbon police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Big Apple on Lisbon Street.

The robbery was reported at 10:52 p.m. Wednesday. According to a press release, a lone male entered the store brandishing a knife, demanding money from the two employees. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.

There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, black mask, black pants and dark colored shoes.

Responding officers arrived within minutes, including K-9 team Officer Jason St. Pierre and police dog Moxie. Their search ended a short distance away in the Davis Street area, where the scent was lost.

Police Chief Marc Hagan said Thursday afternoon that police presume the suspect got into a vehicle where the scent ended.

No one was hurt, and Hagan said the knife brandished appeared to be a serrated kitchen knife between 8 and 12 inches long.

Police continue to investigate this robbery and request that anyone who may have seen a person matching this description, or who may have seen a suspicious person or vehicle in the area, contact them at (207) 353-2500.
