For the life of me, I do not understand leaders of the Democratic Party. It is like they are afraid to fight the long-established Republican agendas.

President Trump wants to build a new wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. He said so in his campaign promises to his so-called faithful followers of the fragmented tea party agenda. But what was always so obvious when Trump said “I’ll have Mexico pay for that wall” was that it was a joke. Everybody with a clear mind knew it, but his faithful followers still voted for him.

On numerous occasions, the Mexican president and treasury secretary have given a resounding “no!” They won’t pay for a wall. This issue has been brought up by our president many times now, and he is trying to get taxpaying people to follow him with his lie, and with more lies now. His promise that Mexico will pay for the wall is a lie, and he knows it.

Why Democrats can’t see what he is trying to do at our expense is beyond me. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and this wall should be a non-issue, since Mr. Trump is using DACA as his own trump card to get the wall built.

DACA is a right-wrong issue, and the wall is not. I know from firsthand experience that the vast majority of Mexicans who are here illegally are really good people. They have no work in Mexico, and if they do find a job, often it’s one that pays desperately low wages. In fact, what they could earn in Mexico in a day is far less than what they would be paid per hour here in the U.S.

I urge Democratic Party leaders: Stand tall. Don’t be afraid of the Republican tea party majority. They will fold up in due time – and so will President Trump.
