SCARBOROUGH —Barbara Sherry Beaudoin, 90, of Williamsburg Lane, died peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Living Center, her loving family was by her side.

Barbara was born in Portland, Maine on April 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Timothy L. and Helen V. (Moore) Sherry. She graduated from Lewiston High School and then earned her Bachelor’s Degree starting at Bates College and finishing at Marietta College in Ohio.

Barbara worked at Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland from 1959 to 1969. In 1972, she married Raymond Beaudoin and together they made their home in Old Orchard Beach. Barbara continued her work in Cytology at Maine Medical Center before retiring in 1992.

 

 

In her spare time Barbara enjoyed traveling, knitting, and gardening. After retirement she became an avid bridge player. Her greatest love was caring for others and her family. Barbara will long be remembered as a happy, loving person who enjoyed and appreciated her journey of life.

Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband of 25 years, Raymond Beaudoin, in 1997; her first husband, Florian E. Caron in 1990, and a sister, Gretchen Gosselin.

She is survived by a daughter, Renee and her husband Jamie Whelan of Scarborough; a son, Paul Caron of Old Orchard Beach; two stepsons, Norman Beaudoin and husband Ronald of Old Orchard Beach, and Paul Beaudoin and wife Jocelyn of Saco; two grandchildren, Ryan and Grace Whelan of Scarborough and a sister Celeste Houle of Rhode Island.

Visiting hours celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Interment will be private.
