Mark was born on July 30, 1953 in Biddeford, son to the late Norman and Phyllis (Bogdhan) Duranceau.
Graduating from Thornton Academy in 1972, Mark was voted most flirtatious in his class. His personality proved to serve him well throughout both his personal and business career. Always the first to share a compliment with a random stranger while making them feel at ease. His presence would light up a room, and his laugh was as contagious as his smile. He was a hardworking man, would always offer assistance to those less fortunate, and always wanted to help “fix it.” He had a huge heart, loved his family, friends, and life in general. He will be missed by many.
When he was well, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities, as well as spending time with them. Mark loved the outdoors, from mowing his lawn, going to camp, fishing, four wheeling, or golfing. If it had to do with being outside, he was there.
Jess and Jewel, Mark’s two dogs were also very dear to his heart. Jess spent time with Mark in his office. He gave her the nick name of “The Human Resources Department.” Jewel stayed by his side these last few months and gave him great comfort throughout his time in treatment, and after.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lee Duranceau; his son, Christopher and wife Darcie Duranceau; his three grandchildren, Cayne, Eliza and Jack Duranceau; his sister, Carol and husband Barry Noble; his brother, Michael and wife Conni Duranceau; his nephew, Billy and wife Karen Duranceau, and their three children; his niece, Sara and husband Nathan Demers, and their two sons.
Mark was predeceased by his brothers, David, Timothy, and Donald Duranceau, and his nephew David Duranceau.
Visiting hours are scheduled for Monday, April 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Celebration of Life scheduled at 6 p.m. at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street in Saco.
