Raegan Kelly, Noble pitcher: The sophomore led the Knights to a 3-0 start, with a three-hitter and two four-hitters. She struck out 22 batters in 21 innings and allowed only one earned run in the three games. At the plate she went 7 for 12 with six RBI.

HONORABLE MENTION

Erin Gorton, Kennebunk lacrosse: With five goals, the senior led the Rams (2-0) past Falmouth 10-3 on Tuesday. Gorton also contributed two goals and two assists in Kennebunk’s 13-5 season-opening victory over Greely on Saturday.

Abby Orso, York pitcher: The sophomore led the Wildcats to a 5-0 victory over Wells in their first game of the season. She struck out 15 and allowed only four hits. She also paced the offense with a two-run homer.

Eva Then, Yarmouth lacrosse: A senior midfielder, Then scored nine goals to help the Clippers improve to 2-0 as they broke open a close game and defeated Freeport 22-7 on Tuesday. Yarmouth led 8-6 at halftime.

Dante DeLorenzo

Dante DeLorenzo, Kennebunk lacrosse: A junior, DeLorenzo scored three times, including the go-ahead goal with 4:55 left in the game, as the Rams (1-2) rallied from a five-goal deficit to beat Massabesic 7-6 in Waterboro on Monday for their first victory of the season.

HONORABLE MENTION

Aiden Glover, Brunswick lacrosse: A junior attackman, Glover scored seven goals and added three assists in the Dragons’ 16-8 victory against Scarborough on Tuesday. Glover has 18 goals this season for Brunswick (3-0).

Will Neleski, Greely baseball: A junior, Neleski pitched eight innings of one-run ball, with a no-hitter through five innings, and had three hits, including a double, in an eventual 4-1 loss in 13 innings to Cape Elizabeth on Monday. In Tuesday’s 7-3 victory over Wells, Neleski had two hits – including a two-run double – and drove in three runs.

Hunter Owen, South Portland baseball: The sophomore left-hander opened the season with a no-hitter at Massabesic on Saturday. Owen struck out nine in five innings – the Red Riots won 10-0 by the mercy rule – added a pair of hits and also drove in a run for South Portland.
