I’m writing to endorse Chris Kessler as Maine state representative for House District 32 in the June 12 Democratic primary.
Chris has been a resident of South Portland for over 10 years. Throughout that time I have witnessed him tackle difficult local issues. Without any outside impetus, Chris founded the South Portland Tenants Association. Through the tenants association, Chris spearheaded a campaign to push back on out-of-state landlords who were exacerbating a rental housing crisis with skyrocketing rents and surprise evictions. Chris showed tenacity and guts standing up for working people in South Portland. He is an obvious choice for those who would have voted Bernie Sanders into the Oval Office.
Chris has also worked in support of college loan forgiveness and against bringing tar sands to Bug Light. Chris is a progressive who supports a worker’s right to organize, Medicare for all and a fair economy for those in our society who haven’t benefited from the last 50 years of starving the beast. He supports full funding for public schools as well as environmental justice.
If you are desperate to find a candidate who will represent civil, economic and human rights for all people over the rights of business and monied interests, then cast your vote for Chris Kessler in the June 12 primary.
