My Central Maine Power bills are on the automatic payment plan. The monthly amount increased when a family member lived with me and then decreased accordingly when he moved on.

Yesterday, I received notice that my monthly bill has increased by 100 percent. My usage has decreased during the past 18 months. I heat with oil, do not have TV and cook much less now for myself than I did for two. I rely on Social Security for my income, and paying my CMP and oil bills takes 60 percent of my income.

How long must we all wait for the Public Utilities Commission to get to the bottom of these outrageous increases in our electric bills?
