We need a fair and non-bigoted person to fill the vacant seat on the Supreme Court! I am terrified to see the racism and classism that are being pushed by my very own American government. I need to know that my family and friends of color will have their voices and rights defended, that other women and I maintain freedom to choose what we do with our bodies and time, that any love between people is accepted and cherished as opposed to being denounced or judged.
How can we continue a democracy if we fill every seat with people who share the exact same opinions from day one? How can we have democracy at all if the government is run by extremists from the same side?
I hope that Sen. Susan Collins agrees that it is more important than ever to ensure we have a variety of representatives on the Supreme Court. I thank her for her dedication to considering each nominee carefully and acknowledgment of just how impactful this position will be for our long-term future.
