A trade war with China and our allies will ultimately damage our economy and cost jobs.

What we really should be doing is boosting trade by becoming more competitive. For that to happen, we must invest in our own infrastructure and educational systems. As Donald Trump himself said in his first State of the Union address, “I am calling on the Congress to produce a bill that generates at least $1.5 trillion for the new infrastructure investment we need.” He has also tweeted, “We need to fix our broken education system.” Since his election, what has he done to keep these promises?

A strong economy requires teamwork and discipline, not tariffs and disruption. Trump’s trade war distracts us from what we must do to make America great again.
