FALMOUTH — The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has awarded a grant to the town to create a pilot food scrap collection program.
The goal of the project is to divert waste by expanding composting and recycling opportunities for residents.
Falmouth plans to construct and operate three food scrap collection locations that will include educational kiosks. Additional community education efforts will also be devised.
