BIDDEFORD — Steven O. Grondin, 53 of Biddeford, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Born Sept. 24, 1965 in Biddeford, a son of Conrad “Babe” and Rita (Beaudoin) Grondin.  He was educated at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Biddeford High School.

He had been employed with the State of Maine Turnpike Authority for 15 years and spent many hours plowing until the roads were “bare and wet.” Steve lived for men’s slow-pitch softball.  He brought great guys together to form deep friendships.  He would travel to Florida yearly with his team for the World’s Tournament. Steve also mentored many who will miss him greatly. He also loved summers at Mousam Lake with his kids and close friends, boating and towing kids on the tube.  Most of all he loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad “Babe” and Rita Grondin, and his brother Ronald Grondin.

Surviving are his children, Ashley Grondin and her two sons, Owen and Oliver, Haley Grondin. and Logan Grondin; a brother, John Grondin and his wife Donna; sisters, Deborah Martin and her husband Dan, and Susan Grondin; the mother of his children, Laurie Thibodeau and her husband Marc; along with several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday Dec. 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St Joseph Church.  Burial will be in St Joseph’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
