BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College men’s and women’s squash teams returned to action with a split against Wesleyan on Wednesday at the Lubin Center.

The Bowdoin men earned an 8-1 victory and improved to 2-2 this season, while the women fell, 8-0, to Wesleyan and dropped to 0-4.

In the men’s match, Bowdoin took wins at positions 2-9 to earn the win over the Cardinals. The Polar Bears earned 3-0 wins at seven of those eight positions, including from Satya Butler and Gannon Leach at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

Carson Claar, Tyler Shonrock, Adham Sobhy, John Milligan, Drew Clark and Ishaan George accounted for the other wins for the Polar Bears.

The Polar Bears failed to find their stride against the Cardinals in the 8-0 setback in women’s action.

Clio Bersani dropped a 3-1 decision at the No. 1 position (11-3, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5), and Melissa Horan also fell in a tight 3-1 loss at No. 3 (11-9, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9).

Both teams will be back in action on Friday night at Williams at 5 p.m.
