BRUNSWICK – On Jan. 6, Brunswick’s Scout Troop 648 welcomed the newest member to the rank of Eagle Scout, Seamus McCarthy.

Seamus, flanked by his parents, Chris and Kari McCarthy, was given his Eagle medal and the pins for his parents, and was presented with the red, white and blue necker that signifies his accomplishment. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must demonstrate various skills that point to a Scout being well rounded and a demonstrated leader.

Former Scoutmaster and Eagle mentor, Will Bennett, spoke about Seamus through his years of Scouting. During the ceremony, Chris McCarthy wished to thank everyone who had a hand in helping his son earn this recognition. Of note were Mike Labbe, Nick Schroeder and all of the leaders, parents and fellow Scouts who worked with Seamus along the way.
